About the Collection

This month will mark 2 years since I was in an accident that required spinal surgery and left me questioning if I would ever be able to paint again. Rehabilitation while living alone in nyc was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through - the physical and mental challenges were frustrating, confusing, and painful to process. But this isn’t a sob story! This is about resilience, renewal, and the power of connection to ourselves and the world around us.

These are gentle reminders of our shared humanity.

Through an exploration of digital art, I found solace in creating work that fused my collective art practice and helped me make sense of these nuanced feelings. During this time, I came across The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows by John Koenig. Chapter 1 was titled “Between Living & Dreaming” and that’s where I wanted to exist. I became fascinated by these ambiguous words that grounded everyday feelings, and visualized them into the works you see above.

Thank you for the love so far on this collection. It’s been a long time coming and I’m excited to finally share it with you!
